We have an opening in our studio space available for the right set of folks.
We are a prototyping studio and set ourselves up for a much bigger team, but changed course and now it's just 1 person in the whole studio. Ideally 1 person or a small team would fit right into the space, as it's a full digital shop that is married to a fabrication shop!
Our space is 1000sqft, divided into two halves: a 'clean' office side and a 'dirty' workshop side.
The clean side has:
— over 30 feet of desk space available, enough for comfortable team of 3, with 6 full workstations with chairs if needed
— a dry kitchen with coffee, water, fridge, etc
— Fiber internet, which can be set up with 10gb ethernet connections
— all the office supplies/pens/printing you may need
— spare monitors and monitor mounts if you need things like this, as well as lots of every day cables and accessories
— a setup for small photography and small object 3d scanning
— Large space 3d Scanner available
— a setup with 12' of seamless when you need to take bigger photos
— grip items like C-stands etc as well as projectors and cameras are available in our storage when you need to do small shoot in the space or rental if they leave the office
The dirty side has:
— 3 large FDM 3D printers
— 2 large resin 3D printers (and cleaning and curing supplies)
— a 4'x4' 3 axis CNC
— 16' Panel saw, drill presses, wood lathe, compound miter saws etc
— Fiber Laser engraver
— Vacuuforming equipment with molding equipment
— 50" vinyl plotter
— Compressor with enough power for HPLV spraying
— powder coating oven
— every hand tool I can think of, and probably 2x of them (❗️)
— Power tools, corded and cordless
— Soldering station and tools for electronics
— Carts and dollies for moving around hauls of things
Our parts bins are 'take a penny leave a penny' and they always seem to stay full—trust here is key!
Don't know how to use any of that stuff? I've taught at local schools and done many workshops—I've had studiomates that used the space 9-5 for remote work and I've tutored them in manufacturing 5-9.
The building itself:
— 24 hour access
— accepts all our packages and signs for them
— is a pickup location for packages as well
— has a loading dock with LD height & ramp height during business hours
— has a security guard at night and an office entrance during the day
— bathrooms with slop sink (clutch!)
Always have new projects that need new tools, so everything from a 48" gas laser to making a podcasting booth are on the table—the space morphs to our our needs. It's really nice to be able to learn new things and integrate them into the infrastructure of the space!
Looking for 1 or 2 studiomates or a team of 2 or so of every-days.
For 1 person, $1650 plus electric
for a team of 2: $2200 plus electric
I get busy with client work and the space just sits for days, which I think makes all the machines bummed! I'd prefer if they were being used to make art or make work rather than waiting for me to find a use for them.
Excited to meet you and your projects!
I'm a designer and run a small prototyping studio from the space. I'm the leaseholder and also the person who built (builds!?) out the space as needed. I'll be your new studiomate!
