We will be spending the summer out of the city and are hoping to find a trustworthy subletter for our beloved home—someone who will treat it with great kindness and respect. We are happy for a small family to stay here and make use of our son's bedroom, and can leave some kids' items if that's wanted (or the room can be converted entirely into an adult space).
Our home has everything you could want: abundant natural light, tons of plants, a well-equipped kitchen with Japanese rice maker and Instant Pot and Cuisinart, as well as a dishwasher, microwave, and Berkey water filter (as well as many nice cast iron pans and sharp knives). Our living room has an extremely comfortable sectional couch, and both bedrooms have very nice memory-foam matresses (one is king size, the other queen size). The floors are all hardwood and we have many beautiful carpets.
The primary bedroom with the king-size bed features an en suite bathroom with a shower with marble tiling; the second bedroom with the queen-size bed has a bathroom just steps away with a bathtub and shower.
We have an in-unit washer and dryer (Bosch brand) and a Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner for easy cleanup. We also have central air-conditioning, which is truly a lifesaver for Brooklyn summers!
Our neighborhood has all that you might need: incredible pizza (Speedy Romeo), a new bakery with unbelievable croissants and sourdough bread (Welcome Home), an excellent fishmonger (Shipwreck), great bars (Dynaco, Do or Dive, Bar Laika, Capt Dan's) and restaurants (Place des Fetes, Peaches, Choice Market, Aita, Emily, Regina's Grocery, Lucy's Vietnamese, Golda, Hart's).
Our apartment is in a luxury building with many amenities, including an elevator, a gym, a courtyard/backyard with a grill and a hammock, a very large roof deck with Manhattan views, a secure package room and secure cold storage room for grocery delivery, and a "cafe"/workspace off the lobby. There is also a bike storage room. We can send pictures of these common areas via email.
The only utility to pay is electric.
We're willing to pro-rate the price for a stay of less than two months, but need a minimum of a six-to-seven-week stay.
We're a family of three subletting our apartment.
