My husband and I renovated the top floor apartment in our two-family home in 2021. It’s a fully furnished, separate apartment with one large bedroom with a queen sized bed and an additional small bedroom that’s set up as an office.
The main bedroom is a big, sunny space (three windows) with a queen sized bed with organic mattress and linens and a leather armchair, for reading next to the window. The small bedroom, which has a skylight and ceiling fan in it, is set up as an office. This room has a desk, a small dresser for extra storage, and a yoga mat & meditation cushion for mixed work / exercise use. The small bedroom does not have a bed in it. Both bedrooms have closets.
The living room/dining room is combined. Full kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator and freezer as well as a gas oven and stove.
It’s very bright, relaxing and clean. Also included is access to the front garden, where there is a nice bench to sit on among the plants and flowers.
The apartment is fully stocked with linens, towels, dishes, cookware, and basic cleaning supplies. We also have a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and a dual fire and carbon monoxide alarm.
The apartment is on Lexington Ave between Bedford and Nostrand, a 5 minute walk from the G and a 12-15 minute walk from the A/C. Within a 5 minute walk are: several delis, a grocery store, a laundromat, a wine shop, a bakery, an acupuncture & massage center, a ceramics studio, several coffee shops, bars and restaurants and a YMCA with an indoor pool and sauna.
Dates are flexible if you are interested in only part of this time, or beyond the time indicated. Just let me know the date range you are looking for. No smoking or pets, please.
We use the apartment to host family and friends, and between visits, we want to make it available for short term rentals (sometimes longer) for folks visiting the city for work, family, or study. We live downstairs and are available if an issue or need would arise with the apartment.
My husband and I have poured a lot of time and care into renovating our house. I work for a non profit organization, mostly from home and my partner works in manufacturing. We garden a lot, with a focus on native plants beneficial to pollinators. There’s a bench in the garden where you are welcome to relax and connect with the plants.
We own this house, living in the downstairs apartment and renting out the upstairs apartment when we aren’t using it to host family or friends.
Combined utilities and super extra fast WiFi are $100 per month. Cleaning fee of $200 when you leave, unless you are confident you can return it spotlessly. No security deposit.
