LOGISTICS
Room in a 2 bed 1 bath available on January 1, 2025. $1,550/month + utilities (wi-fi, gas, electricity, which add up to be less than $100/month). Open to a single person or a couple if you pay more.
You would be added to a 1-year lease, with the option to renew. So you'd need to get approved by the landlord, who's chill but responsive.
YOUR ROOM
faces south (lots of sun) and away from the street (quiet). It's pretty big (11ft x 10.5ft) and has a large closet. Currently fits a full sized bed and a desk comfortably.
THE APARTMENT
a 2 bed 1 bath on the second floor of a duplex that’s right next to a community garden, which you can use as a back yard. The street is residential, beautiful, and tree-lined. Here's a video of the empty apartment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ubA8FnC-Wk
CONVENIENT LOCATION
it's in a lovely part of bed stuy with both families and hipsters. the cross streets are Tompkins and Hancock. it's close to everything:
* transit ~10m walk from the AC (Nostrand or Kingston-Throop) and <5m walk to citibike stations and the B26, B43, B52 buses
* parks: Potomac Playground (which has multiple basketball courts and Tennis walls) is just around the corner. Herbert Von King Park is a ~15m walk North
* food: There's a market right around the corner and lots of good restaurants nearby, like Peaches Hothouse, Warude, and Greedi Vegan
* cafes and bars nearby are top notch
* The Word is Change is my favorite neighborhood bookstore
YOU
Looking for a responsible and kind roommate who's a direct communicator. Please message with a little about yourself and what you’re looking for. We’ll have a chat to see if it’s a good fit.
The vibe is cozy and chill. There are lots of books, and a big dining table that can seat 6-10 people for dinners. Perks include but are not limited to: amazing conversation, homemade kombucha, and cat cuddles.
You’d be sharing the apartment with my dear friend Tina (she/her) and her cat Osiris. Tina is a psychology grad student who has lived in cities across the world as a filmmaker and journalist. She’s into photography, migrant justice, healing intergenerational trauma, and kombucha, among other things. A friend of hers once wrote something like "knowing Tina exists in this world makes it a brighter, better place", and I couldn’t agree more.
I'm currently living there and will move out on 1/1
