I am a bonafide adult looking for a 2BR apartment in Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan to live in with my 14yo son with easy access to transportation for under $4000 including utilities. I have lived in New York for over 20 years and am open to lots of different apartment setups (but not wall to wall carpeting).
Must haves:
-dishwasher
-sunlight
-easy access to transportation (trains, bus, CitiBike dock)
Wouldn't it be lovely:
-in-unit laundry
-adult sized bathtub
-nearby park
-en suite bathroom in primary bedroom
-kitchen that invites cooking
-furnished
Dream scenarios include:
-outdoor space
-3rd bedroom/office
-gym in building
I am 49 year-old black woman (she/her) and teacher, looking for an apartment to share with my 14 year-old son who will be splitting time between me and his dad as we finalize our (amicable) divorce.
I wake up and go to bed early (I am a teacher after all), I am not interested in partying or general loudness and I like to cook and travel when I can. My son does a ton of extracurriculars and is barely home, I work long hours with teenagers and want to come home to a peaceful apartment.
I am focused on creating a warm and inviting new home for me and my kid and hope someone out there can help me find the right place to do so.
