We’ve been living and renting out rooms in our house since 2014. It’s an old brick townhouse full of character—think original stairs, double doors, and high ceilings—but it’s also been updated for a functional and homey feel. We have two rooms available and are looking for two new roommates to join us!

We're seeking easy-going folks who will contribute to the harmony of our space. Sharing isn’t for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine—you know if it’s your thing. If you enjoy sharing a home and want to be part of a community, reach out to us!

Our housemates have different schedules, so we’re not always around at the same time—typical New Yorkers, always on the move! When we can, we like to coordinate house dinners to bring everyone together.

We’re just a 5-7 minute walk to the 6, 2, and 5 trains, and only a 20-minute express ride to Grand Central. Our neighborhood is diverse, culturally rich, and full of life, with vibrant nightlife, restaurants, bars, and plenty of Mexican eateries and supermarkets within walking distance. Despite all that energy, the house often feels like it’s tucked away on a quiet road—especially the rooms facing the backyard. Walking through the front doors feels like an escape, and coming home is always a delight!

We have two private rooms available: one with a loft twin bed on the top floor, shared with three current roommates (ideal for a longer-term tenant, 1 year+), and another with a full-size bed on the parlor floor, shared with Doug and I (perfect for a shorter-term tenant, 3-6 months). The larger room shares a spacious bathroom with an big clawfoot tub and gives you access to a nice backyard.

Rent is all-inclusive and covers access to the washer and dryer, laundry soap and bleach, dish soap, rags, trash bags, internet, water, electricity, gas, monthly cleaning service of shared spaces, and cleaning supplies. In the summer, we install a window AC unit for an additional $25/month.

CUDDLE / ALLERGY ALERT: The home comes with pets! We have a 3 year old kitty named Lea and a 2 year old dog named Bart. While they hang out with us downstairs most of the time, they do sometimes wonder about the house (mostly Lea).

Doug and I will have been married for 12 years in October! When we do the math, we feel like old farts, but we still feel like we're in our 30s. :-) When we purchased the house, our first thought was, 'Let's live with friends!'—but, fortunately (or unfortunately), most of our friends already had homes. So instead, we've formed lifelong friendships over the years with folks who have called this house 'home' at one point or another.

Doug is a forensic social worker by day and a law student by night. I'm Rose, a wanna-be city homesteader—always cooking something or making shampoo bars and homemade lotions with rendered tallow (IYKYK!). I'm currently completing a program to become a certified health coach because I'm deeply passionate about everything that can help a person live well.
