This large 1100 Sq ft apartment in a 1927 prewar brick building is in the lovely leafy Ditmas Park area of Brooklyn, convenient to the city and other parts of Brooklyn. I am subletting the entire apartment with one room kept as a space I use only once a month, for a brief wknd visit, from where I teach in upstate NY. This space is set off from the rest of the apartment, by a foyer and hallways. Apartment has beautiful hardwood floors throughout, lots of light, and minimally furnished, situated on the 2nd floor. Queen bed with Ikea platform, (drawers underneath), mid century dresser, and hallway closet by the large bedroom. Another room acts as office/studio/workspace, quite large, and a fully equipped sit-in kitchen; living room has couch, dining table, etc. Full tiled bath, ceiling fans, AC in the study, and high ceilings make this apartment feel extremely spacious and light-filled. Apartment is just two blocks to the Newkirk Plaza B & Q train, and just a quick three block walk up gorgeous sycamore lined streets to the bustling Cortelyou Road, for shopping, food coop, farmers market, bars, library, and great restaurants. Also amenities close by such as Foodtown, liquor stores, post office and laundromats. Building does not have any laundry facilities, but great drop off service exist close by.
I am seeking one person preferably, no pets or smoking. I am super busy and quiet when visiting, but friendly and easy to get along with. Prefer someone who is super clean and tidy and respectful of my belongings. Rent includes all utilities including high speed internet. Apartment is perfect for a visiting scholar, or researcher, and or someone in-between apartments. A six month commitment is preferable and ability to stay on TBD. References, proof of income, first month and security deposit is required. More photos or walk thru Facetime are possible.
Starting date is flexible but prefer upcoming full month of January (pro-rated of course).
I am a full time professor at a college in upstate, teaching art and design and like to return to my apartment on occasion to visit friends, see art, museums, galleries etc. Brooklyn has been my home for over 25 years. When I am in the apartment I am often busy working on my laptop and or reading and mostly out seeing friends, events, etc. While in the space I cook minimally so much of the time is in the other half of the apartment. I love to travel and often do so in the summer, therefore not using the apartment at all then. My pronouns: she/her
