Our beautiful 1.5 BR apartment is available to rent immediately. This is an unfurnished 2nd floor apartment in a small 2-family house on a tree-lined street in Williamsburg between the Graham Ave and Grand St. L train stops. Up a flight of stairs, this unit was newly renovated and upgraded only a few years ago while retaining some of the charming details of the small farmhouse this building used to be. There are windows in all five rooms of the apartment - tons of light from three directions! The front room (approx 12'x13') can fit a king-sized bed with nightstands. It has a full sized closet and an adjacent smaller room attached - great for a home office. The large eat-in kitchen (approx 10'x12') and full bathroom (5'x12') are in the middle of the apartment. The upgraded kitchen has rehabbed vintage wood cabinetry with hand-cut details, white Carrara marble countertop and built-in oven, cooktop, exhaust hood and full-sized refrigerator. The back room (approx 15'x12') has a lofted 11-foot ceiling with built-in dimmers and a ceiling fan. There are hardwood floors throughout and a built-in 12K BTU A/C unit as well. A lot of thought has been put into keeping this apartment as charming and home-like as possible, in contrast to all the cookie-cutter new developments in the area. We are seeking someone who appreciates these details and the retreat of a quiet and cozy house in the urban landscape of NYC. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a peaceful home space, takes their shoes off at the door, appreciates composting and sustainability, is understanding of a young queer family with special needs and truly supports marginalized communities. LGBTQ+, POC folx welcome. There are three laundromats, three supermarkets, many restaurants, coffee shops, mail services, Amazon hub and the L train within a block or two of our house. Heat and hot water are included in the rent.
Our small family has owned and lived in this house for over 18 years. We live below the rental unit and keep fairly early hours. We are artist/activists who support local farms, participate in our community and practice compassion in our daily lives. We know that climate change is real and we do as much as we can to help conserve energy, recycle, reuse, compost and live minimally to reduce waste. Our house is our home and retreat space from the bustle of city living. Please contact us with any questions or to make an appointment for a showing. Thanks!
