Enjoy the glories of Spring in Summer in the Berkshires! Come and relax, hike, swim and lounge in our gorgeous garden. Dog friendly home in Monterey, in a three bedroom New England charming house, built in 1760...with a gentle river and park just below, following the curve of the property.

RIVER sounds waft through the art-filled home -- privately situated, but just a stroll down our dirt road to get to the center of our village --General Store, post office and library. The sounds of water are like a sleep chamber!

COZY fieldstone fireplace is the hearth of the home -- built in 1760, it is part of the original historic house.

SWIM and HIKE Lake Garfield's swimming beach is a short stroll or dip your feet and let your dog play along the river just feet away. Benedict Pond and Steadman Pond both don't allow motorized boats and are perfect temperature for a swim through September and kayaking in the fall. The Appalachian Trail cuts through our town with many other hikes and strolls close by including The Cobble and Steepletop.

FRESH Farm stand up the road, with a goat farm around the corner.

SIT outside in the garden with stone steps and original stone wall dating from the 1700's. Enjoy your coffee inside the kitchen with amazing light and views. Write, work, think, tinker surrounded by light, trees and the sounds of a bubbling brook. Outdoor BBQ and evening fire pit. Chaise lounges and outdoor reading chairs by MARNI.

COOK in the chef's kitchen with stocked pantry, cooking tools and appliances. Stainless steel counter on one side, a butcher block counter on the other. A new Bosch dishwasher, a Samsung Smart Range, Cuinsinart, Belleville small appliances, Staub cookware. The indoor dining area is sunny and bright with property views.

RELAX in our comfy, and tastefully appointed living room with a 75" home theater, vinyl record player and sound system, and art covered walls. Trust that you can work in this relaxing environment with HIGH SPEED fiber optic internet.

SLEEP in beds with high quality Frette linens. A king in the primary suite downstairs, a queen in the guest room and a twin in the smaller guest room, both upstairs. All with super comfortable mattresses -- Keetsa. And for those cool evenings, I have a heated mattress pad in the primary bedroom. :). The full bath is upstairs with a half bath/laundry downstairs.

ENJOY the Berkshires which is a world class cultural center -- from art to dance to theater. We are amidst it all -- Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, MassMoCA, Williamstown Theater Festival, are all close by - even the Norman Rockwell Museum is worth a visit.

EAT at 5 star dining...take a dirt road past a waterfall and end up at a Michelin starred restaurant! Or any of the amazing restaurants and chefs in he region -- from Prairie Whale to Gedney Farm and Monterey's own Roadside Cafe with home grown chickens, milk, cheese and pastries.

NATURE is all around! Trees, rivers, ponds, strolls down paths and dirt roads...a hikers and creatives' paradise -- or anyone who needs to concentrate! We have two kayaks for use with a signed waiver. Kripalyu Yoga is about 15 minutes away.

We are away June and July into early August this summer. The weekly price includes rent, high speed fiber optic cable, internet, firewood, gardening and utilities. Housekeeping is extra. Kayaks available with a waiver.

Note that the stairs inside the house are steep and are not suitable for young children.

A conversation, references, rent, housekeeping and deposit would be required. The house is approximately 1400 sq feet and sits on over an acre of land, with a river along two sides.

I am always inspired to write and create in this incredible setting. I love my cozy home and gorgeous garden and hope to find someone who will be inspired by both the indoors and outdoors as much as we are.

And great for swimmers and hikers -- four different lakes and swimming holes are within our town -- and the river abutting the property is great for wading and cooling down with your feet in the water!

There is a set of steep stairs in the home so is not suitable for young children.
