About this Service

Speechwriting & Ghostwriting:

I’m available to write speeches or any written materials (articles, reports, etc) for both business and personal needs.

I’ve helped workshop wedding speeches for friends and family and I officiated a wedding this summer; I’m open to working with you on everything from maid of honor/best man speeches to wedding vows to officiant scripts. I know these are highly personal pieces of writing, and I will work with you in whatever capacity and at any stage of the writing process you would like.

I’ve also written annual reports, op-eds, newsletters, and speeches in a variety of voices. I have experience writing about immigration advocacy, museums, and public health, but I am open to any subject matter where there may be a need.

Writing Tutoring:

I'm also available for one-on-one tutoring sessions to work with students on academic essays, creative writing projects, and college applications. I was a writing tutor throughout college and have experience helping people at all stages of the process, from formulating an idea to polishing a finished draft.

I live near the Bed-Stuy/Clinton Hill border and am happy to meet in person at a library or cafe in the neighborhood. I also work in Long Island City and can meet in that area on a weekday evening. If you'd prefer to speak remotely, I'm okay with that too!

About this Lister

What I like most about this work is approaching writing as a collaborative process—it can be intimidating to figure out what you want to say and how to say it. It makes a big difference to have someone serve as a sounding board, writing partner, and editor; I hope I can be that person.

Background and Expertise

I worked as a college writing tutor and studied Political Science at Colorado College. After graduating, I interned at a speechwriting firm and then got a job as a writer on the immigration team at Emerson Collective, where I was the ghostwriter for the Managing Director of Immigration. Then, I was the speechwriter for the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. I now work as the speechwriter for the head of the New York City Department of Health.

I am happy to share my resume, writing samples, and professional references!
