This rental is for two sunny rooms in a 3-bedroom, split level apartment (stairs into building, stairs down to lower level). The top floor rooms will be all yours and include a large bedroom and an office space.
The entire apartment is furnished and well-stocked, you'll have full use of everything you need throughout. The office has all the "office-y" things you could need, like a printer, adjustable standing desk, couch and TV for when you want to "work" in a more recumbent position. The bedroom gets tons of sun because there's nothing out back to block it. It has a small closet, and a TV stand with baskets and a bedside table. The kitchen, dining area, and single full bath are upstairs, and the living room is downstairs. We also have access to a private outdoor space, although we don't really use it.
The apartment is located in the heart of Park Slope, just two blocks from the subway at 15th Prospect Park, three blocks from Prospect Park, and a block from 7th Ave. It also doesn't face the street, so it's a pretty quiet place. It's convenient, yet also away from the Friday night frenzy.
My partner and I live here and our bedroom is downstairs, but we travel a lot, so you'll frequently have the place to yourself. We hope to find a kind, friendly person to share and care for our space. This is a great fit for someone with a suitcase or two, here for a sabbatical, school, pre-move, etc. Someone who wants the separation of bedroom and office space! You'll have a closet and furniture for your things in your room, but there's not really room for much other stuff. We've previously had someone who was here for a three month course and it was perfect for her to just plug into life here without bringing too much!
We are extremely clean and tidy folks who expect the same level of care from anyone staying here.
We put the listing up for Jan through May, but we're flexible for the right person. Ideally, someone who is staying for at least a few months would be great, since we'll be in and out a lot and would love the continuity.
Utilities are included in the rent unless they are unusually high and out of alignment with prior bills. Basically, as long as you aren't running a bunch of space heaters, we should be good!
My partner and I in our 40s and are tidy, chill, nerdy types. We love to play board games, watch too much TV, and eat vegetables pretending to be meat. We play music, and travel quite a bit for work and pleasure. We're pretty quiet folks, but we are night owls and not super early risers, so it's something to keep in mind with the shared kitchen being upstairs.
We're happy to show the place virtually and would expect to get to know potential tenants a little on a zoom or facetime call at minimum. If you're able to meet in person to see the space, all the better!
