Hello,
I'm subletting my house in upstate New York for the summer. It's an old house, with wood floors and sloped ceilings. The bedroom and an office space are up one flight of stairs. I use the downstairs bedroom as a studio for painting. An artist would be free to use this space for painting and drawing. I'm also open to someone who isn't an artist and would want to shift some things in the studio to make space for other use.
It gets lovely light throughout the day. It has a full bathroom and kitchen. There's a large back yard with fire pit. There is also a shed for some storage.
The house is twenty minutes from New Paltz, and under 2 hours from Manhattan. There is a smaller guest house that shares the 1 acre property. It's a few yards away. The property is located on a small town road. Accord Market which is just a few minutes down the street. It is a 10 minute drive to Minnewaska State Park and some great farmer's markets, local breweries, restaurants, a wine shop, and Inness Resort.
A car is preferable, especially for longer stays. However, I often take the Trailways bus from Manhattan to New Paltz, and a cab to the house from there.
Weekly: $600
Monthly: $2200
Open to artists and creatives who want to use the house for art making or showing.
Some details to note:
There's an a/c upstairs, no a/c downstairs.
The house runs on well water.
The houses uses a septic tank so water and toilet sensitivity is important.
There is no washer and dryer.
Small pets okay.
I'm an artist based in Brooklyn. I'm the landlord and will be your point of contact. I've been renting this house off and on for the past few years when I am not using it myself.
