I'm a photographer who prefers faces to anything else. And I believe that headshots are for everyone - NOT just for models/young people (although I also shoot models!). With affordable headshots like the ones I offer, you don't have to wait 10 years for a new photo.
My studio is based in Gowanus, Brooklyn and our shoot takes about two hours. You'll bring several solid color options for tops, maybe a jacket or a blazer. We can discuss wardrobe choices over Zoom if you have questions.
You'll come to the studio and we'll do 3 different looks. I'll take about 100+ photos and we'll wrap up. Within 5 business days, you'll receive a link to a folder with all your photos and you'll choose 2 of your favorites for me to retouch, which you'll receive within a week.
You can opt to do your own hair and make-up if you know what works best for you, or for an additional cost ($150-$200), I'll have a hair/makeup artist on-site for you to work with when you arrive.
I grew up in Houston and went to school at the University of Texas at Austin where I double majored in Studio Art and French. I spent a year in Paris wandering around museums, brasseries and artists' studios. After living in a big, artsy city like Paris, I started to consider a move to the Big Apple. It's been a great fit!
One of my favorite things about taking pictures of people's faces is that I learn so much about a person. I love the way a face can change drastically with the slightest hint of a smile or an eyebrow raise. I find that faces of all ages hold immense beauty. I just photographed my mother who is 85 and wow! What a looker.
I'm a photographer/designer by day and have taken hundreds of corporate headshots. My main side gig is that of an NYC actor, which aids me in headshot photography, specifically. Because I've had many good and bad photo shoots as an actor, I know what works and what doesn't. Out of necessity, I've also had to learn to retouch photos for myself and for employees at my corporate gigs.
I have experience in filming and editing and learned lighting originally for video shoots. I've done corporate photography for over 10 years and have more recently started to build my portfolio as a headshot photographer.
