Hello -

Live/work artist space is available in Red Hook beginning August 1 with a flexible end date. Fully furnished. Studio has a shelving unit, 2 tables, and 2 chairs, 3 lights and plenty of wall space. Studio is appx 200 sq. feet., LIving space is appx 450. There are a number of books that are available to read, I would ask they are used kindly and returned to their place.

The space is located in the back of an old historic church. It is technically shared with another woman in her 30's (a film/tv editor) however the space is divided so that the only shared portion is the bathroom. The rest is private. You will have a small kitchen but water will need to be accessed through the bathroom. There is a small alley that has chairs and a small table for outdoor sitting if you'd like. The church has several occupants in total and has an artist-community vibe.
Access to Pioneer Works is 1 block away, and a 15 minute bike ride to their temporary location. Coffey Park is half a block in the other direction. Cute coffee shops and cafes line Van Brunt Street, which is 1/2 block away. Access to the bus and ferry is 1 block away.

The space is non-smoking and please no pets. There was a cat in the space at one point so if you have severe allergies this might be something to consider. Since your loft-mate works from home you will need to be considerate of sound and smells even though the space is separate. Absolutely no use of strong chemicals i.e. bondo, spray paint, epoxies, etc allowed. Oil painting will be ok but only with odorless solvents- ventilation with fans and open windows is a must. Any sanding or dust generation will need to be done outside.

No parties please. Guests welcome but not for extended stays (more than a few days) and would appreciate a heads up for anyone besides yourself entering the space. As always consideration of loft-mate and neighbors is paramount. Thank you!
