Reporting directly to our Director of Operations, we are seeking an ASSISTANT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER to oversee design/build projects for beloved, industry-lauded NYC food and beverage clients, as well as a select number of residential projects in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Mon-Friday, 8-hour shift
LOCATION: in our office in Ridgewood Queens and on-site at various projects throughout the city.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years+ construction management or design/build equivalent experience required.

• proficient with general office and computer admin, including facility with MSWord, Google Docs, and Excel
• BONUS SKILL: Sketch-Up and/or other 3D modeling skills are a huge plus, but this is not imperative. On smaller projects, modeling skills would allow you to help conceptualize a client’s vision; on larger projects, you would work to provide clarity on build details in advance of design execution by our carpenters and subcontractors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Offsite and onsite management of 400-6,000+ sf residential and commercial projects.
• Pre-construction prep: including gathering pricing, sourcing materials, meeting with subcontractors, estimating projects, co-managing a construction team and, for design-oriented candidates, participating in the design process.
• Plan all construction operations and schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
• Supervise subcontractors and give guidance as needed.
• Prepare subcontractor documents.
• Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed client reports.
• Assist with permitting and approvals.
• Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction, review subcontractors’ requisitions for payment to determine the release of payments.
• Oversee the punch-list and project close-out process.
