We have a 300 sq. ft suite we are seeking a roommate or studio/office-mate for a private suite. It has a private entrance and large, full private bathroom with walk in shower.
Utilities: ALL utilities included (water, gas for hot water, Fios internet, and electricity).
Kitchen: It has a sparse kitchenette (NO stove or kitchen sink). Mini-fridge and microwave are in the space. Ideally for people who don't cook much at home, but just make simple meals instead. A toaster oven may be purchased if desired. A gate-leg table and chairs for two for dining. There is a coffee maker and electric kettle. No cook tops are permitted because of the fire risk.
Heating and A/C: We utilize space heaters and a portable A/C for heating and cooling. The insulation is great, and was completely redone in 2020.
Accessibility: there are 5 steps down to the basement unit. The ceilings are LOW, if you're over 6'2 you'll brush your head, but we've used this space as our office and if you're sitting, it doesn't really matter.
Layout: We live nearby and use the basement for our storage. This area is locked so your space can be totally private.
Furnished: It is furnished with a small couch, queen bed, dresser, kitchen cart, table and two chairs, two rugs, and TV stand.
Neighborhood: Buses and subway 2,5 nearby - B,Q trains a 20 minute walk. Coffee shops (Little Roy) and restaurants close (check Aunts et Uncles). Lovely block association and plantings all around. We have a garden in the front you are welcome to sit and enjoy.
We are two people in our late 30s with a child who is 3 and two small pups (one sweet senior, and one who is a lovebug!) Zach (he/him) is an artist and adjunct instructor. Christa (she/her) works full time.
We own our house for over 11 years on this block and live in the house as well, so we maintain our home and neighborhood well. Neighbors here and friendly and respectful; it's not too loud, and everyone watches out for each other (many people have lived here for decades). It's primarily Caribbean and the vibe is exceptional. We are very close with many of our neighbors!
There is ample insulation in the space so you shouldn't hear much of the upstairs folks and vice versa. We don't smoke and we don't allow smoking in the unit.
