Looking for a clean and respectful subletter for one private room in a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The room is on the smaller side with a closet, hardwood floors, and one window that lets in ample sunlight. It can comfortably fit a full bed or a twin with a desk. Comes furnished with a trundle bed or can be cleared out if you’d prefer to bring your own setup.
The apartment is on the second floor of a walk-up building (no elevator), with shared access to a warm and vibrant common area (kitchen, living, dining). There’s a full kitchen with gas stove, full-size fridge, and a dining nook that doubles as a good work spot. The living room has comfy seating and gets great light throughout the day. Bathroom is shared, with lots of storage and good water pressure. We’ve got fast Wi-Fi and a no-shoes-inside rule to keep the floors clean.
The vibe is peaceful, friendly, and clean—but not overly precious. I work from home and like to keep shared spaces tidy and welcoming. Definitely not a party house, though occasional dinners and hangouts with friends are welcome.
The neighborhood is mostly quiet and can get lively especially when weather is good! It's a 10-7 minute walk from the Kosciuszko J and Utica Ave A/C. B26, B46, B38, and B52 buses are all close by. Lots of bodegas, groceries, and local gems around—plus cute cafes, bars, and parks within walking distance.
The subletter will be living with me. I am a self-employed designer who works from home. Im looking for a respectful, tidy, and communicative roommate.
I am the current tenant of the apartment.
The application process will go through my landlord, but typically will require signing an agreement and then paying one month's rent and a security deposit upfront.
