Hi! I am looking for someone to sublet a room in my 3BR, 1 bath apartment in Crown Heights. I have lived there for 8 years and love the apartment and location, but my current roommate is moving out end of the month and needs a subletter for her room from January - end of April. We split the apartment between the two of us - the third bedroom is used as a guestroom/office space, which would be available for you to use as an office.
The apartment is on the third floor of a 3-story building, quiet, well-lit with windows, and close to the 2, 3, 4, 5 trains, lots of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Garden are close by, and Prospect Park is a 30 min walk or quick bike ride away. If you travel a lot, one nice perk is the LIRR station nearby for an easy $5 trip to JFK airport. If you have a bike, there is space to lock a bike in hallway/stairwell, but we're also around the corner from a Citibike station.
The common spaces of the apartment are a kitchen/living/dining room and one shared bathroom with a window in the shower (rain-style shower-head) that lets in beautiful light. There is a laundromat a half-block away - about as convenient as it gets for not having laundry in the building.
The available bedroom can come fully furnished with a double bed, dresser, and bookshelf. Or if you have your own furniture, we can discuss what you do/don't need.
I'm a woman in my 30s, friendly, laidback and welcoming. I love many kinds of music, baking, caring for the handful of plants that brighten the apartment, drawing and art, meeting up with friends, and wandering over to Prospect Park or the BK botanic garden which are close by! I work as a therapist in an outpatient mental health clinic, and work in the office 4 days a week, so I'm not home during the day, except for Fridays when I work from home. The office space in the apartment can be yours!
I enjoy keeping home as a chill, clean environment to come home to. I have friends over occasionally for dinner, but mostly keep the apartment as a cozy, calm spot to relax and would love a roommate looking for the same. No pets, no smoking. Would love a roommate who appreciates open communication, a friendly vibe at home, and keeping a clean apartment.
Let me know what questions you have and a little about you, if you're interested! Happy to do a video tour of the apartment if it seems like a good fit.
