This is a first floor apartment at the back of the building, with windows all opening to the back corridors/garden.
The kitchen and common space are the first sights once entering the flat. A refrigerator, stove, counter, and table take up the first portion of the room (kitchen.) That then opens up into the common space, where there are 2 large windows and open living space. The walkway is wide and the setup is currently a couch, a bookshelf, a cat tree, and a dresser for house storage. This is flexible and new roommate should feel emboldened to make the space fit their style and preferences.
Further into the house is a hallway, where the small cozy room is the first door. More on the room in a bit. Across the hall from the room is a closet with additional storage space above. Plenty of space for clothes, shoes, things, storage, etc. That closet is solely for the front bedroom. Further down the hallway, a small "nook" with have additional bookshelves. At the end of the hall is the bathroom, a linen closet, and another bedroom.
Bedroom: It's small and cozy! The heater is strong in the winter and the 2 large windows open to a moderately lit corridor for fresh air. Currently there is a full size bed, a desk, and a bedside table. It's tight but comfortable, a great space to rest and recharge, read, and even do some work if you have a remote job or work from home. Tall ceilings open up the space and with the right wall hangings, the space can be cute and cozy.
Open to discussions about leaving things furnished or unfurnished, depending on what you are moving in with.
Area: 7 minute walk up Flatbush Ave to the BQ and S train at Prospect Park. Living on the Q line is wonderful. The B41 is right outside the front door and also very convenient! Plenty of coffee, takeaways, grocery, laundry, neighbors, and parks all within walking distance. (I have absolutely loved living in this area!)
You'll be living with a musician who plays on Broadway shows and who is commonly practicing at various times throughout the day. It will be quite easy to decide when the optimal times are so that the space is shared. They keep to themself but are talkative and friendly when in common spaces.
You'll also be living with 2 cats, Stanley and Chai. They are sweet and playful and looked after by the other roommate. Talking about best places for the cats food, litter, and toys are all up on the table and a new roommate can feel comfortable discussing the setup.
Looking for a roommate who is thoughtful and independent, picks up after themself and is chill living with sweet kitties.
This has been a queer household and gender neutral pronouns are normalized in the space.
All in all, set boundaries as you need so that you can be happy in the space. It's close quarters but plenty of room to spread out and find your peace.
I will be moving out but staying on the lease.
If you're interested, reach out and we can discuss details over the phone / I can show you the space on facetime / we can meet at the coffee shop across the street and I'll bring you over for an inperson visit. Whatever feels right.
The space is available now at a rate of $45/day. The sublease begins on Jan 1 2025.
There will be a short lease agreement outlining the dates agreed upon and the pay schedule. All parties will sign (me, you, and current roommate.)
There is a security deposit of $1375- paid to me
Then monthly is $1300 paid to the roommate who cuts a check.
Utilities (wifi, electric, gas) are shared and comes to about $60/month.
