Hello! We have one sublet room opening up in our queer friendly 3bd 2ba Crown Heights apartment April 1st for $1150 (+utilities and first month’s security deposit); we’re only looking for someone who is able to sign onto a year-long lease starting in July after the sublet period ends. It’s a bright room that can fit a queen bed and a desk, and you’ll be sharing a bathroom with one person.

LOOKING FOR: Quiet, 26+, Covid conscious, someone with a daily cleaning practice, with an emphasis on leaving the kitchen clean for the next person, and excited to live with a cat.

We leave our messes in our rooms and try to keep common areas as clean as possible. We both work from home and spend a lot of time in the apartment, so we like to keep it as an oasis, especially during the workday and on weeknights. We don’t usually bring the party home, but will very occasionally have chill movie nights or have people over for dinner. Also, looking for someone who respects that, no matter how cool their partner may be if they have one, this home isn’t a good fit if they’re looking to have their partner or guests around frequently.

It would be great to have another queer person and/or BIPOC person in the apartment, but flexible! We share the space with a very silly retired street cat. Comrade is a sweet ginger boy who loves attention and affection. We’re only looking to bring in someone who is enthusiastic about living with cats, and no couples or additional pets.

We have a washer/dryer, dishwasher, big kitchen, and fire escape; 2nd floor of an elevator building with a ramp to enter the building. Utilities not included.

Serena (30, queer, BIPOC) - I’m a freelance documentary filmmaker and video editor. I’m an introvert and deeply value living in a quiet space. Ben (26, cishet male, BIPOC) - I’m from Portland and work in PR. I get up pretty early during the week, and I like cooking, live music. You’d be sharing a bathroom with me, and it’s important to me that we, and volunteering for local political candidates who share my values. keep it clean. I spend a few nights every week at my girlfriend’s place, and am currently watching Succession for the first time.

We mostly keep to ourselves but like the chat when we’re around the apartment at the same time. Our home is organized around our shared leftist values, including the right of all Palestinians and colonized peoples to autonomy and freedom from occupation.
