Children will learn in small groups, between 4 and 6, who are elementary aged. We will help craft curriculum but as teacher you would have liberty to intervene according to your area of expertise. If you have a degree in math, you understand the basics behind fractions, and if you can think creatively about how to share this information to children, this position is for you. Moving away from the idea that there is one correct way to teach, towards an understanding that teaching is relational, ontological, and unfixed, we hope to find people who can view the school as a site of connection and curiosity and a place where children can learn to become intellectually curious and brave.
In particular, if you are an expert in any of the following areas:
English (Reading/ Writing)
Math (Elementary Level or higher)
Science
Music (We are open to purchasing pianos and drums)
Theater
Journalism (A weekend class for teens where you create a newspaper for Bed Stuy)
Spanish
French
Mandarin
We want to hear from you. We pay $100.00 per class and we expect teachers to come with lessons prepared. If materials are required and the costs are not prohibitive we can purchase the necessary materials.
The new space will be on the corner of Marcus Garvey and Van Buren Street.
We are hoping to build on this space in the upcoming years, so this is a position that could continue and grow.

We are looking for creative, smart, dynamic teachers for a wide range of subjects.
Children who need extra help or extra challenge or just display a strong interest in a subject will join in small groups under your instruction in a variety of topics, ranging from reading, writing, math, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, Theater, Science and journalism.
We are looking for individuals who understand children intuitively, or who are willing to give them a chance. We are looking for individuals who have deep knowledge that they could share, who are pursuing their own careers but can carve out an hour or so at a time to help foster a love of learning and for particular topics in a small group of children.
