Spacious and sunlit one-bedroom floor-through apartment in the heart of Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, available for sublet starting December 1st (flexible) for three months, with a possible extension.
The apartment features bright windows in the eat-in kitchen and large bedroom with a skylight brightening the smaller interior separate living room and office. The kitchen and living room feature original tin ceilings and the bedroom has an exposed brick wall with a working fireplace. The top floor apartment, in this 4th floor walk up, is in a pre-war building so it has its quirks including aged (squeaky) wooden floors and a no-frills entryway and staircase landing. But the space is very quiet and the neighbors are friendly.
Carroll Gardens and the adjoining neighborhoods--Cobble Hill, Columbia Water Front, Redhook and Gowanus--are all lively and artsy with a European flair (French). It is a 5 minute walk to the Carroll St. F/G subway stop with a Citibike dock on the corner. Within one block there are: bars, restaurants, a grocery market, specialty shops, a spa, a bodega, dry cleaners, pizza shops, a hip coffee/ record store and a laundromat.
The apartment comes with a 55" Roku TV (apps pre-installed), Sonos speakers, and a 27" Mac monitor in the office. The kitchen is fully stocked for those who like to cook; kitchen cabinets/ refrigerator can be left empty or left with spices, baking goods and other staples if desired. The drawers and closets will be left empty but there are art books, puzzles, legos and other fun amenities that will make the apartment feel like home from day one. The apartment is great for those working from home and will easily accommodate one person or a couple with one queen sized bed.
Move-in/ move-out dates are flexible
I have lived in this well-loved Brooklyn apartment for five years and the neighborhood for more than ten. I will be away for a few months so am looking for someone to care for it in my absence. I love cooking and baking, watching movies and making art. My name is Claire (She/Her) and I am a consultant working with emerging and immersive technology. I work from home and the office is a very cozy and open space to work in--with a skylight and surrounded by plants.
