We’re looking for a full-time showroom associate with a deep knowledge of hi-fi audio equipment and a genuine love for collectible design. This role is equal parts sales, space steward, and design liaison—someone who can speak fluently about sound systems and aesthetics, connect with interior designers and architects, and bring cultural curiosity to the floor.
About You:
You have experience with high-end audio—whether in retail, installation, DJing, or studio environments.
You have a strong eye for design and follow architecture, interiors, or collectible objects closely.
You’re comfortable engaging customers, designers, and creatives in conversation.
You’re organized, proactive, and excellent with follow-through (emailing, scheduling, maintaining relationships).
You love being in a beautiful space and contributing to its energy and experience.
You're based in NYC and available for a full-time, in-person role.
Responsibilities:
Representing Silence Please in the showroom: welcoming guests, demoing products, sharing our story
Selling and educating on our speaker systems and audio gear
Managing email outreach to architects, designers, and potential collaborators
Assisting with coordination of design-forward events, installations, and special activations
Maintaining the space and overall experience—curation, cleanliness, and energy flow
Schedule:
Full-time, 5 days/week
Mostly daytime hours, including one weekend day
Occasional evenings for events
Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience
Commission structure for sales
Staff access to events, audio gear, and exclusive product previews
