Short (approx 6 mo with possible longer) some flexibility on start and end dates.
Want to get away from noisy congested city streets when you come home? Be among the trees and nature and fresh air? Live with creative folks?
We own a two family house on a residential street and live in spacious 3 bedroom upstairs apt. Large furnished room available now with queen bed, desk, large dresser, closet, and small round table—and floor space for yoga, etc. can adjust furnishings for your needs.
Includes well-equipped kitchen— everything you need if you like to cook, shared bathroom (extra large tub), living room, dining room, sunroom, hardwood floors/high ceilings/French doors…old fashioned, artful, and eclectic from our travels… lots of windows, plants, & light. Laundry room in basement with extra toilet and sink.
We also have a small garden and gathering/ barbecue area behind the house that backs right up to Highland park with great trees.
We also often go away to our country house for several days to a week, so during that time you will be sharing with just one roommate.
We are right on newly renovated Highland Park/ Ridgewood Reservoir—huge green space, newly re-paved walking/biking/running paths, new frisbee golf course, tennis, ball fields, etc! Just beyond Bushwick close to Ridgewood off Jackie Robinson Parkwayon Bulwer Place. 10-15 min walk to A,C, L, J, Z, M trains Broadway Junction, Liberty Ave C , Van Siclen J, Z Bushwick/ Aberdeen L and LIRR—street parking/bike storage behind house in garage.
Looking for respectful, creative individual (no couples or pets at this time) of any age who would enjoy sharing our home, living in a real house, the surrounding park/nature, and won’t bring the party home.
Possible additional 300 sq ft 1st floor art studio with built in work surfaces/ storage cabinets for rent later this year. Ask if interested.
We are in our late 60’s (young at heart) and have worked therapeutically using creative arts, music, yoga, nature, and spirituality in healthcare and community settings—newly retired.
We also have terrific new Listings roommate in her late 20’s in our small front room who is a teacher, poet, and will be your only roommate when we are away.
Our son and his fiancé (in mid 30’s) live and work in the downstairs apartment and are artists/designers.
We’ve rented to quite a few artists/creatives/students/teachers over the years, mostly through Listings, and enjoy sharing our home and supporting those transitioning to NYC or looking for a change from city streets. We are friendly and engaging, but also offer quiet, privacy and your own space, and we are away a lot.
We also do have a large fluffy cat named Magic—he comes with us most times when we go away.
Interested? Feel like this could be a good match for you?
Let me know and we can talk further.
