We are offering our sun-drenched loft on the full second floor of a former sewing machine factory for sublet from December 11, 2024 - January 15, 2025.

Features include 14-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls, a charming casement 'fairy-door' leading (via the fire escape) to the backyard, in-unit washer and dryer, dishwasher, and Sonos setup for streaming music. The 800 square foot apartment has an open-plan C-shaped layout that allows for both openness and distinct spaces, with the bedroom (in the back) and office (in the front) set off from the main space. West-facing windows line the front of the apartment and east-facing windows in back, providing lovely sunlight throughout the day.

The space is curated with furniture, art and plants, as well as a wall of books in the front study/office area.The is apartment is cozy and warm during the winter months while also being open and perfect for hosting small gatherings, working from home, yoga and meditation, cooking elaborate meals, or curling up with a book. The fully furnished unit has space for personal items and the well-stocked kitchen includes a large kitchen island that also serves as a dining table seating four.

Right around the corner from Maria Hernandez Park, the lively neighborhood offers great culinary variety (from delicious tamale stands and a Saturday farmer’s market to multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants) and shops ranging from discount to specialty items. The Jefferson L train is a six-minute walk away (so less than 20 minutes to Union Square) and there is a large, 24/7 grocery store next door.

Looking for a responsible and reasonably quiet, non-smoking person or couple (no roommates, sadly no pets, no parties). We absolutely love our charming home, and hope to find someone who will care for our plants and home like we do ourselves, while making themselves comfortable and enjoying all the loft and neighborhood have to offer. The rent includes all utilities and internet. Ideally we'd like to find someone for 4-5 weeks, but we'd potentially be open to a shorter rental of 2-3 weeks at the rate of $1000/week.

We are a couple (artist and academic) who will be away over the first part of summer. We *love* this place and hope to share it with someone who might love it as much as we do.

We have a good relationship with our landlord upstairs and our neighbors downstairs and are looking for a considerate, responsible person or couple to enjoy our home while we are away.
