The basics:
Second-floor bedroom. 11’ x 12’ space with 18’ ceilings. $1140 per month (plus ~$100 utilities per month). Move-in date is flexible but December 1 would be ideal.
Common areas are fully furnished including a living room, dining room (with an upright piano), and small spare bedroom we use as a guest and TV room. Kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher. We have a private backyard accessible through the kitchen.
We’re two roommates who are looking for a lease takeover for the third bedroom (our roommate is moving out to live with their partner). You’d sign onto a lease through April 2025, but we’re hoping for someone who is looking for a more permanent situation and would be open to renewing if all goes well!

More about the room/apt:
The room is spacious with an 18ft ceiling, carpeted floors, one tall window facing our backyard and a built-in closet. We have additional communal closet space in our second floor hallway and guest room for longer term storage.
We’re on garden level and there are stairs up to the second level of our apartment, where your room would be. We have a full bath on each floor, and you’d likely share the second floor bath with one of us. No washer/dryer in the building, but the closest laundromat is a block and a half away. Our backyard is private with two large trees and a stone-paved area. We have a gas grill and a fire pit, as well as raised beds we sometimes use for gardening.
We’re two friends who met in college and have been living together for the past five years. We’re a 29yo man (he/him) and 32yo woman (she/her), both queer, and working as a journalist and an editor. One of us works from home Mon–Fri, but may start using a co-working space occasionally. The other usually works from their office Mon–Thurs.
We hope to be friendly with our roommate and are looking for someone who is considerate, relatively clean and quiet, LGBTQ+ friendly, and thoughtful about Covid precautions. We host occasional dinner parties and larger parties a couple times a year, always with notice for the other roommates. We sometimes host friends or family in the guest room for brief visits. People often comment on how the apartment feels like a warm home, something we take pride in.
