$50-$65 or commensurate with experience and depending on the role
Pay may be adjusted higher depending on timing/ hours
Location: Greater New Brunswick, NJ

Job Description: We are looking for live-in support staff to be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team providing support, companionship, and instruction to a 22 year old autistic non-verbal male who will be attending a daytime program at an intensive outpatient clinic during the week.

There will be two staff members with the participant at most times, one who stays over night. Available roles include team lead and 1:1 companion.

Responsibilities Include:

Drop off and Pick up from Intensive Outpatient Clinic
Assist in maintaining client’s schedule of activities of daily living (ADLs)
Communicate with family and clinic staff
Preparing food/snacks in line with participants dietary needs
Clean the living area
Prepare clothing and assist with dressing
Take care of therapeutic equipment
Assist with behavioral management
Assist with data collection of target behaviors
Transportation to and from the daytime program, other programs and in the community
About the client: Client is a 22 year old man on the Autism Spectrum. He needs 24/7 care. Client is highly engaging and communicates via word approximation, iPad devices and some ASL. Client enjoys watching videos on his iPad, watching movies, going to the beach, swimming, and jumping off diving boards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Experience and/or training and competency in managing and redirecting aggressive behaviors, behavior modification, and behavioral adjustment.
Physically capable to navigate and maneuver potentially strong and aggressive behaviors
Background in psychology/social work or experience with clients on the Autism Spectrum is a plus.
Experience supporting individuals with ADLs and life skills.
Clear and confident communicator.
Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliable.
Collaborative approach in working with parents and others professionals supporting the client.
Warm, kind, and open demeanor.
