This apartment is a gem for someone who wants to live in a real neighborhood. It is located in the heart of the Lower East Side, but is on the backside of the building so it's very quiet and has an outdoor space. You can enjoy the vibrant restaurants, bars, shopping and people and still come home and rest your head in peace.
The apartment is up one flight of stairs (19 steps to be exact). There is no elevator. It has a shared common area outside the apartment for additional storage.
The apartment is a railroad style apartment with a large bathroom. Good size kitchen (with great dishes, pots, pans, etc.). A built in desk with file cabinets and additional storage. The living room has a custom couch which can sleep one adult comfortably and two children. Large screen TV. The bedroom has a pocket door on it (and it works for blocking out sounds from the living room & kitchen). There is a TV in the bedroom as well with a queen size bed (we have great linens both for the bedroom and for the bathroom). There are three full size dressers, a closet with additional cubbies, under bed storage and a full length mirror. The bedroom has two windows and gets great light.
The outdoor area is a built out garden with a barbecue, table & chairs, sun chairs, additional seating, a mini trampoline, putting mat and golf hitting cage for your use. There are bird feeders. We'd love someone who would use this and potentially water the plants, but not required. I have additional photos if you are interested in seeing more.
The apartment is clean and streamlined. We've taken out most everything or ours so the photos have things that are no longer in the apartment.
Utilities, Internet, streaming services all included. There is no laundry in the building but there are several great laundromats and it is fairly inexpensive in this neighborhood to send out your laundry. We have a list of neighborhood recommendations for both services and entertainment.
There are several places to grocery shop. One block from Essex Street Market and a short walk to Trader Joes and Whole Foods.
The neighborhood is know of it's restaurants, bars and galleries and retail is beginning to gain momentum. It's a short walk to Soho and Union Square and is three blocks from F, M, B and D trains. You can get almost anywhere in Manhattan in 20 minutes.
My husband and I have lived in NYC for over 20 years and have been on the Lower East Side for over a decade. We love the neighborhood. We are splitting our time between West Palm Beach and NYC (quite the human experiment). We are part of the neighborhood and are happy to introduce you to neighbors and local restaurant and store owners.
I work at a start up and my husband works in technology. We do come to the City (and stay elsewhere) and are both good communicators so if you need anything we are a text, phone call or email away to answer questions or help with anything in the apartment.
We have rented before and had a beautiful British couple stay who we are still friends with.
Great building and landlord.

Pets are allowed. We have two cats and our neighbor has a mid sized dog.
