Looking for a subletter to fill a room in a beautiful Mt Pleasant apartment! Room includes a closet and a north facing window. You would share a nice bathroom with one other roommate. Rent is $1434 a month, ideal start in mid-late April, and ideally go through August 31, with the ability to sign a new lease at the end of August if it's a good fit for you and everyone you'd be living with.
The apartment has a great living room with lots of light and a big dining area, a huge, modern kitchen, built in washer and dryer, a big stoop and a cute back patio. It’s on a quiet residential street and only a 4 minute walk from the Mount Pleasant farmers’ market & main street, which has amazing restaurants like Ellé, Beau Thai, Purple Patch, and most importantly, the best ice cream in DC (Mt. Desert Island). Our house is a 13 minute walk from the Columbia Heights metro station (green line), and 4 minutes from bus lines like the 42/43, H2, H4, and H8. The 42/43 takes you straight through downtown in 20 minutes.
Who you'd be renting from: I'm Jenna, and I've been living in this room for 2.5 years! I have loved living in it, but I'm moving in with my partner, and I want my two roommates to find someone great to live with! You will be subletting from me until the end of August.
About your roommates: Dalia and Hannah are two women in their 20s and 30s working in nonprofit consulting and government. They hang and chat on the couch at night and love sitting on the stoop when it’s nice out. They both have hybrid work schedules, so a quiet apartment during the work day is important.
About the house: We don’t keep a co-op/group home environment, but we do share things like condiments, eggs, tea, etc. We keep the kitchen and common spaces clean. Bring your plants, we have great sunlight! Unfortunately, we can't have pets due to allergies.
About you: You're a woman or non-binary person in your 20s or early 30s, who is tidy, responsive, and comfortable openly communicating about roomie matters. We’d love to have a roommate who is queer friendly, inclusive, and invested in making the apartment a calm and inviting place.
Current tenant
I'd love to to leave any and my bedroom furniture for you (for free!), but if you want to bring your own, that’s fine too.
