Our mid-century 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house sits on a shaded 7,000 sq ft hillside lot with lush native plants and views of downtown. It’s a total oasis, perfect for those seeking tranquility and inspiration. Fully furnished with a minimalist-bohemian style.

The main house sits on the street level of a winding road in Mount Washington. The sunken living room has wood-beamed ceilings and wall to wall windows; outside is a sea of greenery and expansive views. This room is the perfect perch for lazy afternoons listening to the record collection. The fully equipped kitchen with Viking range opens onto the living room, which opens onto the deck, so the views can be enjoyed from the kitchen as well.

The light and breezy larger bedroom has large sliding doors that open to the deck, so you’ll wake up to the sound of birds singing in the yard, and an in suite bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is located in the front of the house and stays extra cool in summer. This room has a nice children's book collection. Toys are tucked neatly away. Both have extremely comfortable queen size beds; one is a Temper-Pedic mattress, the other has a foam mattress plus Temper-Pedic topper. The 3rd bedroom has an optional crib and is enclosed with a custom built sliding door.

The large terraced yard has been updated with beautiful native landscaping, a cedar hot tub, and a backyard office/studio perfect for working from home distraction free. The tub is awesome for warm relaxing soaks, or cool dips in summer. There's also a 14' trampoline on the bottom grass level.

The neighborhood of Mt Washington is filled with tranquil hills perfect for sunrise and sunset walks. The Self-Realization Fellowship is just up the hill, and a bit further you’ll find trailheads overlooking the Angeles Mountains.

Just down the hill is Highland Park. So many great neighborhood joints like Cookbook, Highland Park Bowl, Civil Coffee, Homestate, Triple Beam, and Lodge Room can be found on Figueroa. Ramen on York, Joy, Hermosillo, and much more over on York.

From the house it's 5-10 minutes to the 110, 5, and the 2 freeways, so you can connect to anywhere you need to get to.

About This Lister

We are a family of 4 with roots here in California and also in Denmark where we plan to live for a while. Danielle is a Creative Director and Tobias is a musician, and we have 2 daughters who are 2 and 8 years old. We love our LA home and plan to visit from time to time.
