The NYC Scholastic Awards team is seeking regional art and writing judges to adjudicate the work of local teens. If interested, please complete the form.

Writing judging is asynchronous from December 16, 2024, through January 6, 2025. Writing judges are asked to submit their scores directly in our portal at their leisure and receive $75 when they complete scoring all of their assigned panels. Writing judges typically receive four to six panels of works from 11 categories of writing.

Art judging is scheduled for January 3-12, 2025 in person at the Scholastic Inc., headquarters in SoHo. This is a commitment from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM paying $100 per day. The NYC Scholastic Awards provides complimentary breakfast, lunch, and beverages. Art judging consists of three art judges and a moderator going through at least two panels from 18 categories of art.

Note: If you already registered for national judging with the Scholastic Awards, this is a separate opportunity to judge works from the New York City region specifically.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their remarkable work to the world. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. The New York City Scholastic Art & Writing Awards manages over 13,000 entries from local creative teens.
