I am going to be working in Europe and am subletting my beautiful pre-war 800 sq ft apartment in Yorkville. The fully furnished apartment has an enormous eat-in kitchen (with dishwasher), a beautiful living room with a Steinway baby grand, huge persian rug, gorgeous new velvet couch and leather armchair, television w/ hbo max, hulu, netlifx & amazon prime, hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings, crown molding, and built-in bookshelves.
The large and sundrenched primary bedroom with en suite bathroom comes with a queen bed and linens, an enormous walk-in closet, a linen closet, a decorative fireplace, a desk, beautiful built-in cabinetry which provides ample storage space and a huge window onto a fire escape that looks out onto a gorgeous magnolia tree.
The study (the room with the wall of bookshelves) currently functions as a second bedroom and has a full bed, a dresser and an armoire in it. Alternatively, the furniture can be removed and that room can be a beautiful work-from-home space. Note the crown molding!
The apartment feels very quintessential old New York in a Woody Allen kind of way. I have tons of books and I've decorated the place with lots of antiques. The apartment is railroad style and on the 2nd floor of a classic New York townhouse. There are only 5 units in the building, so it is always very quiet. Yorkville is a wonderful neighborhood. I am three blocks from the East 86 Street Q Train and very close to Central Park, Carl Schurz Park and the East River Promenade. Also very close to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim and the Neue Gallerie.
3 month minimum sublet.
I am an actress.
Current tenant
Security deposit of one month's rent (to be returned at the end of the stay) is necessary to secure the apartment. Then first month's rent is due on the move-in date. I am not looking for people who bring the party home. This has been my home for ten years and is furnished with antiques that have been passed down through generations of my family. It is a precious space and I don't want anything destroyed, especially the Steinway piano. The utilities (internet & electric) are not included in the rental price.
