PT Babysitter Needed for Two Middle-School Aged Kids

Hi All,

I'm Jennifer, and I'm helping my client, a single Brooklyn mom, find a PT manny or babysitter for her two middle school aged kids. Because she is a single mom, I'd *love* to find them a manny or male babysitter, but any experienced babysitter is welcome! I will be doing the preliminary screening for this job, so feel free to DM me with any leads or suggestions.

This is our second time posting this listing here on LP and we believe we’ve found a terrific person to cover Monday-Wednesday. So anyone interested must be available BOTH Thursday AND Friday each week. And have some availability to cover M-W as needed here and there, as well as 1-2 evenings a week and possibly a weekend shift.

Here's the entire job description:
***** Looking for a responsible, proactive and experienced babysitter for my client's two kids, aged 11 and 13 years old (with majority of care being for 11 year-old). Preference given to anyone with awareness and/or experience with neurodivergent kids.

Experience Required:
- 4 years or more babysitting experience preferred. (Also, my client is willing to consider moms or dads with parenting experience of kids similar in age.)
- Experience with tweens and teens a must!!!

The Work:
- School pickup and after-school activity and appointment escorting.
- Daily routine maintenance - you set the routines and help her kids stick to their routine.
- Light housekeeping as needed to help maintain a clean and orderly home.
- Dinner prep and cooking as well as making any snacks or other meals as needed, depending on the hours.

Essential Qualities. You are:
- Responsible and reliable first and foremost. As a single parent household, she will be counting on you to arrive on time, and work all days, evenings and other shifts agreed upon.
- Able to stay calm.
- Excellent at setting and maintaining boundaries.
- Full of energy and a playful spirit.
- Someone who enjoys tweens and teenagers.
- Present. Sometimes that will mean kicking a soccer ball and running around outside with them. Other times it will mean playing a board game, watching a movie, helping with homework.

Rate, Schedule & Hours:
- $22/hour neg.
- Pay is on the books.
- Hours are R-F, 3:30-6:30pm, with some evening and weekend hours to bring total hours up. Again – these hours are on the books.

When responding please make sure to answer these questions:
- Your availability Monday-Friday, 3:30-6:30pm?
- What is your evening and weekend availability like? For the right candidate there will easily be a fair amount more hours a week including a few evenings and some weekend work. Can you work extra hours? Do you want extra hours?
- You are comfortable being paid on the books?
- Your experience babysitting or working with kids, especially tweens and teens?
- Your experience with neurodivergent kids?
- The neighborhood or zip code you live in.
- Are you able to commit to the position through end of June 2025? Aiming for this at a minimum, as it’s best for all to keep things as consistent as much as we can.
