We’re looking for a cozy, character-filled unfurnished 2-4 bedroom apartment under $4250 pcm where we can stay longer term—preferably something pre-war since we’ve both got a soft spot for a place with a bit of charm. We are very flexible on location, but the dream would be walking distance from Prospect Park somewhere around PLG or Crown Heights. Really anywhere walkable, lively and near to a green space would work. We'd like to be a short walk from a subway station but we're flexible on lines. Our only ‘hard pass’ is grey linoleum flooring (sorry I just can’t do it!) We love to cook, so a nice kitchen would be a huge bonus. We do want a dishwasher and laundry in the building (shared/coin operated is fine); but would potentially be willing to purchase one if there's only a hookup.
We’re both ultra clean, friendly, responsible and respectful tenants who love creating a warm, welcoming home (if this means anything to you, we have 11 Capricorn placements between us). We really value community, and our closest friends are all people we have lived with or next door to. We can and will bake for you, and on the off chance we’re lucky enough to find somewhere with an outside space, you will benefit from the bounty of tomatoes we’ll bestow upon you. I own my mid century house in Denver, and am no stranger to fixing a lightbulb or a leaky tap- so we won’t be haranguing you for unnecessary maintenance requests. We’re financially stable with a combined income of $270k, robust savings accounts, and credit scores between 750 and 800.
We need a place that’s pet friendly- we have a sweetiepie 6yr old mutt called Arthur who is an ESA, about 60lbs, has his Canine Good Citizen AKC certificate, regularly trimmed nails, and the dignity of the elderly wizard that presumably resides in his body (seriously, he doesn’t even smell like dog and prefers to wear clothes). Mostly he just wants to stretch his legs ambling around the block or snooze in the sun spot. He has never had an accident in the house or chewed up so much as a sock. Lee is allergic to cats and we have no intention of getting any other pets.
We’re Sofie (she/they) and Lee (they/them), an easygoing lesbian couple in our 30s. We've been living in Denver, Colorado for 10 years. I am from London (a dual citizen now!), and Lee is from Missouri. We’ve been travelling to and from Brooklyn for work and play frequently over the last few years, already have a small community there, and now we’re ready (and excited!) to make the leap permanently. Lee is a senior manager of consumer insights and strategy at a healthcare company, but they moonlight as a comedian. I’m a commercial illustrator with around 8yrs of experience- I work with companies like Apple, Google, Starbucks and Planned Parenthood, most often on Pride campaigns. We’re both focused on our careers, but have many (possibly too many) hobbies- especially quilting, embroidery and nail art for me, writing, pottery and cooking for Lee.
We’re looking to move in early-mid December, but could swing something a little earlier or later for the right place. If you have or know of a place that fits the bill, we’d love to hear from you! Thank you so much for your help—we can’t wait to find our new home!
