A fully furnished small 2-bedroom apartment on the fourth floor of a large pre-war apartment building in the historic neighborhood of Lower East Side/Manhattan Chinatown.
All the rooms in the apartment (bedroom, office, kitchen, and bathroom) have windows that look out into an inner court yard. The place is brightly lit during the day and very quiet (you don't hear the street at all). Please note there is just one, full-sized bed in the apartment because I used the other bedroom as an office. For guests, I have a fold-out futon couch in the living room. The apartment is perfect for a single person or a couple, but not suitable for roommates. There's a window AC unit in the bedroom.
I am partial to this neighborhood because of the fantastic food options in Chinatown and Lower Eastside. The location is extremely conveniently if you want to get anywhere in the city by public transportation. The Grand Street subway stop (B/D train) is a block away, and you can walk to the Canal Street stop (6/J/M/N/R/Q) in five minutes, as well as the F train at East Broadway and Delancey Street. There are many laundromats nearby but no laundry in the building/apartment.
Monthly rent includes all utilities: WIFI, heat, water, gas, and electricity. The apartment is available starting on 12/18/24 and all the way through the end of the summer in 2025. I'm open to a shorter sublet—feel free to inquire if you have specific needs.
Please note photos of the apartment were taken at two different times so the way rooms are furnished look slightly different. I have moved some furniture and most personal possessions out but the bed, couch, kitchen table & chairs, wardrobe, closets, office desk & other essentials will be there for you.
I am an academic researcher who has worked also in museum education. I use she/her pronouns. I have lived in New York for most of my adult life and love this particular neighborhood. I have to relocate for work but plan to return to the city in the second half of 2025.

I expect the subletter to sign a standard sublease agreement, make first month's rental payment up front and an additional month of rent as security deposit. Monthly rent includes all utilities: WIFI, heat, water, gas, and electricity. I will provide plenty of storage space for the subletter, including closet space, kitchen shelf storage and an empty fridge.
I can show the apartment from 12/19 to 12/23 in person or virtually. After that I will be away for the holidays, but I can make available prerecorded videos.
