The Apt:
Completely renovated, with original moldings and detail throughout, 10 ft ceilings, a private patio AND a fully furnished private roof deck with electric and storage. Past the shared, furnished porch overlooking the front garden through the main house and up the original restored staircase, walk into a separate, large, double-windowed living room. From the living room, enter the separate, large and bright eat-in kitchen with 4 windows, rustic wood-beam shelving, industrial lights, an oversized white ceramic farmhouse sink, antique brass faucet with filtered water, knobs/handles from Anthropologie, double-height kitchen cabinetry, generous counter space and stainless steel appliances - refrigerator with ice-maker, quiet-technology dishwasher and an oversized 36 inch Italian six-burner chefs range with a built-in rotisserie. From the kitchen, access a private patio with built-in planters that get full sun and a nice view of the large tree in the backyard. The boxes are currently planted with lavender.
The adjacent windowed bath has a marble tiled tub and shower with antique brass rain shower head and hand shower, new pedestal sink with matching faucet, marble tiled flooring, a separate built-in mirrored cabinet, and Anthropologie finishes. The light fixtures, commissioned specifically for the unit, were hand-made by Seattle based artisan, Adam Weisgerber.
There are three bedrooms. The large primary bedroom is off the living room with two French doors, is quite bright with three large windows and has 2 large mirrored wardrobes for hanging and folded items. It can fit a king. The adjacent bedroom to the primary is smaller (full sized) also with a large window and 10 ft high ceilings and has a second door to the main hall that goes back into the living room so walk-through isn't necessarily essential. The third bedroom, also off the living room, can also accommodate a full sized bed, and also has high ceilings and a long window.
Original hardwood floors from 1899 are throughout the apartment and the building as are original moldings. In this way, the house is quite unique - fresh and re-modeled but still historical. The house is detached so light comes in from all sides.
Access to the private furnished roof is just one interior staircase flight up.

Atlantic Ave - a number of new high rises are going up in the area. Despite our block being a tree-lined street, the house has/will have great proximity to commerce/activity as well as to green spaces (the park).
Arlington Library (2 blocks away) - a graceful two-story classical revival structure built with a gift from Andrew Carnegie, with a unique split-level layout and two fireplaces, the spectacular 7,000-square-foot interior is almost entirely intact and remains one of the best-preserved Carnegie libraries in New York City. The natural oak trim is unchanged, as are the paneled columns, inglenook, circulation desk and decorative railing at the mezzanine.
It is a vibrant neighborhood and this is an active street with long-time residents we know well. It is quite normal to hear bachata occasionally blaring from the street, especially in the warm weather.

We are a family of three: I'm a mixed media artist, my husband is a contractor, and we have one 14-year-old son. Because my husband is a contractor, we maintain our buildings diligently and he performs any repairs that are necessary.
I will be showing the space.
