Rooms for Sublet

$1,000/month

Location

Crown Heights, BROOKLYN

Available

March 1, 2025 - September 1, 2025

Size

73 sq. ft.

We have a sunny, private room in a 3 BR apartment in prime Crown Heights, Brooklyn for $1000/month (+ electricity utility usually ~$60) available now as of 03/01 (March 01). We are pretty flexible on how long you want to rent - ie we’re open to someone who wants to rent month-to-month (although we would prefer someone who plans to stay on until the end of the lease in August - or even longer).

The apartment is in prime Crown Heights, right off of Franklin ave. It’s a short walk from the Franklin Ave A/C and the Franklin Ave 2/3/4/5, and a little longer walk to the Bedford Nostrand G. We're also walkable to Prospect Park, BAM, and Brooklyn Public Library.

We're close to a lot of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. There are also multiple grocery stores, laundromats and gyms nearby. The neighborhood is pretty calm/cozy, but gets pretty busy on the weekend nights.

We've got a nice living area and a cute kitchen. All hardwood floors. The apartment building has a nice big roof that is used a lot by me and other people in the building for hanging out.

The room in the first three pictures is the available room.

We don't have an in-unit washer/dryer, nor do we have a dishwasher. There is a laundromat about a block away.

The current residents are me (AP, he/him) and Gabi (she/her), both in our late 20s/early 30s. We spend a lot of time working quietly in our rooms, although we've been known to have people over every so often. Both of us are musicians so you might hear us rehearsing in our rooms fairly regularly (singing and guitar and keyboard though I tend to play my guitar plugged in with headphones on). Gabi usually rehearses in the morning and I usually rehearse in the early afternoon / evening (and never after 1030). I have some soundproofing installed in my room but can easily install more if necessary. For my day job, I'm a game developer working on multiple projects.

I also have a cat named Nela who spends most of her time either in my room or in the living room. Due to the size of the unit and the fact that Nela doesn’t get along with other cats, we probably can’t welcome any other cats (or dogs) into the space, but smaller pets are okay if they can be contained in your room.

I'm reasonably neat and always wash my dishes right away. I also take out the trash and clean the bathroom every sunday. If you leave your dishes in the sink long enough I'll probably just wash them for you lol (not to be passive aggressive, just so they're not in a way when I need to use the sink).

Currently, I'm the only person on the lease, which will be renewed on 09/01/2025. Initially, you would be a subletter at least until the lease renewal, after which you could decide whether you'd want to remain a subletter or if you'd want to get on the lease as well.

If you're interested, contact us to figure out when you'd like to come see the place in-person.

Rental requirements

The only requirement to move in is the first month's rent and you'll be able to stay month to month. The only thing I ask is that you give me at least a month's notice if you're going to move out.
