I am renting the second bedroom of a 2-bedroom 4th floor walk-up apartment in beautiful Clinton Hill. Seeking a pro-social, cooperatively minded, generous of spirit and creatively oriented roommate who would like to live with my sweet 5.5 year old kiddo and myself in our warm and cozy home.
The apartment is about 800 square feet on the top floor of a brownstone on a quiet, beautiful street. The apt has a dishwasher and washer/dryer in unit and wall AC units in two equally sized Queen bedrooms with normal closets. There is one shared bathroom and the common space is one big open layout space which encompasses the living room/kitchen/dining room. The shared space is set up with my grandmother's art on the walls and kid toy bins to keep things organized, but I am not precious about the set-up and I'm open to re-organizing to make the space work for everyone!
I am seeking a roommate who would love to live with a child and who would integrate well into our sweet small family dynamic. Someone who understands the pros and cons of what living with a kiddo means, who has a full life of their own and preferably works outside of the home, but who would love to be a part of co-creating a warm home environment with some amount of shared down time. Deciding to share a home with a small family/young child is a big decision and one that none of us should take lightly. Open to considering a bit of a rent decrease if someone wants to exchange some hours of regular childcare for housing. Sublease would be through July with the opportunity to re-sign.
5-minute walk to the Clinton-Washington C train and 10 min walk to Clinton-Washington G train. Many adorable coffee shops/restaurants/bars nearby. 20-min walk to Fort Greene Park and 25-min walk to Prospect Park. Really sublime location.
Rental price does not include utilities - which are typically $75-$100 a month, slightly more in summer months with increased use of ACs.
I am a solo parent in my 40's with an amazing community around me who supports me in raising my child and who works as a public health midwife. I have lived in this apt for almost 10 years and I have previous experience with cooperative living. My kiddo is sweet, shy and engaging once they get to know you, and they love to play board games and do math problems!
