I am subletting a room in my East Harlem apartment. The apartment, on 105th and Madison, is fully furnished with all the amenities you would need for your stay in the city. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, the living room has a large TV and comfy couch for lounging, and there is even a dining room with a table for dinners in.
The space is light filled (with lots of thriving plants) and on a quiet street. The Conservatory Garden in Central Park (one of the hidden gems of the city) is less than a block away. The location provides easy access to the 6 train and the 2/3 trains.
East Harlem is one of New York's great neighborhoods! Within walking distance, there are plenty of bars and restaurants. and the apartment is right on Museum Mile. You'll be close to Central Harlem, the Upper East Side, and a short walk through the park to the Upper West Side.
About This Lister
My name is John (he/him) and I have been hosting people in my East Harlem apt for years! I began renting the extra room to rotating medical students, residents, and physicians that were were working temporarily in the area. When I decided to move to Brooklyn for time, I started looking for a longer term subletter. Antonia (she/her) has been a wonderful roomate and is staying through September 2025. We both work in healthcare (I am a pharmacist, she is a physician), we're both in our 30's. We both love the city and all it has to offer and are looking for a roomate that is just as cool with quieter nights in these days!
Lister's Relationship to the Space
I had lived in this apartment for nearly ten years (!) but recently began staying with my girlfriend in Brooklyn (we are trying out her neighborhood before deciding where we want to ultimately stay). I have been renting out the spare room in my East Harlem space for years, generally to physicians and residents working at Mt. Sinai. Now I am just looking to rent both rooms for a short time before my gf and I try out East Harlem (next year).
Rental requirements
I am currently staying in Brooklyn temporarily, am subletting one room to a physician named Antonia, so I am looking for a subletter to take on the rent for the other room. Antonia is a physician traveling from Germany and completing a program through September 2025. She and I are working together to find the right fit for a roommate. We are looking for someone for a longer term stay (ideally through September 2025) but are open to any lengths for the right fit. We would require a deposit but are happy to discuss the terms ahead of time.
