The apartment is on the first floor of a victorian home in Ditmas Park. Conveniently located near B and Q trains, 35 mins to downtown Manhattan.
The apartment is huge - oversized living room, full dining room, large kitchen, decent-sized bathroom and bedrooms. The dimensions for your room are approximately 12 ft x 12 ft. The dining room can also double as an office; before I switched industries, I worked a fully remote job and my old desk setup is there if you want it. If you like to cook, you’ll love this place. I almost never cook so you’ll have pretty much free rein of the kitchen.
Other amenities: there is a dishwasher! No laundry in building :( but there are 2 laundromats in a 3-block radius.
The neighborhood is truly THE best. It is quiet and community-oriented. It’s a 15-min walk to Cortelyou Rd for some of the best restaurants in the area, and there’s pretty much everything you need within a 5 to 10 minute walk (pharmacy, grocery store, post office, coffee shop, bank, library, etc.).
Over the years, I’ve collected a ton of furniture for the common spaces so you’ll only really need to worry about your room. That being said, I’d love to bring in cool pieces and I’m not super attached to the current furnishings.
Rent is $1300, heat and hot water incl. Utilities/wifi are about 60-80/month depending on the season.
My name is Georgia (they/them). I'm 25, queer and non-binary, and looking for a queer roommate or ally. I've lived in the house for three years and it's an absolute gem. I found my last roommate of 2 years via Listings Project, but she is moving to be closer to family so the room is opening up.
More about me: I love music and concerts, women’s soccer, board games (game night?), going to the movies, and am trying to get back into reading. I work in live music so I have an irregular schedule and often work nights and weekends. I try to be considerate of noise when it comes to other’s schedules, as my current roommate gets up at 6am everyday, however I am a deep sleeper so I'm not bothered by noise in the morning.
Other than that, I’m not home all that often, so when I am here I like to relax and unwind. I like the apartment to be a refuge from the outside world. I like to keep a clean home but I’m not obsessive about it. Generally, I’ll keep any chaos to my room and keep the common spaces tidy, and I’ll ask the same of you.
I’m looking for someone who likes open and direct communication. I’m happiest at home when my roommate and I are on the same page and we address any issues swiftly and compassionately. I'd love to chat and see if we'd be a fit!
