The house is warm and colorful, filled with a great deal of character, loads of plants and fun, quirky bits and bobs, along with two majestic cats -- Pepsi and Princess. Two of your roommates share the downstairs bedrooms and operate a lovely online storefront together and your roommate upstairs is a comedienne, splitting her time between her comedy and artwork -- she has a small crafting studio at the top of the stair landing.
The room is upstairs and has two East facing windows that bring in a great deal of natural light during the day. The shared upstairs bathroom has a tub/shower alcove and a nice nook to store toiletries. Downstairs is a shared common area that is home to a vast VHS collection, a wall of Simpsons memorabilia and Pepsi's jungle palace. Passing through the common area is the dining room near the kitchen, with a series of plants that line the french doors/windows leading to the outdoor deck/ front entrance. The kitchen is massive with two fridges and a washer/dryer -- you'll be sharing the washer/dryer and one of the fridges, along with the freezer and pantry. We have a great deal of kitchen appliances, cookware and baking supplies at the ready if you do not have much in the way of pots and pans.
The house is in walking distance to Ralphs (it's across the street), Lazy Acres, The American Film Institute, Griffith Park, Hollywood/Western Metro Station and Barnsdall Art Park. A perfect spot for students and for creatives on a budget.
Some of your roommates work nights-shifts and may appreciate some peace and quiet during the morning hours. Everyone is respectful and open. The house atmosphere is fun, congenial and most of us keep to ourselves. More often than not, though, we like to have family-style dinners at the tail end of the week.
There is a small yard outside with a grill, string-lights and outdoor furniture -- perfect for grilling, gardening and hanging out.
I am an illustrator and freelance production designer. I've lived in the house for a quite a while and will be moving at the end of November. I enjoy sketching, a nice cup of a hot coffee in the morning and making cinnamon rolls.
Current Tenant
If interested, happy to connect you with the current roommates and Landlord. Looking for the new tenant to sign a new 1 Year Lease in December. $750 deposit required along with the first month's rent. Utilities are split between the four of us on Splitwise. Water is included. One roommate is in charge of the Internet, two are splitting the Electric/Trash and the new tenant will be responsible for the Gas account. I will be happy to transfer the information required to set-up a new account with SoCal Gas.
There are currently two cats in the space already and may prove difficult to introduce a third animal, but happy to chat with the current roommates.
