Hi,

I'm renting my apartment, which I own and use at least half the year, when I'm not upstate with my partner. It's a 4bdm / 2 bath (80' long, 20' wide), normally occupied by no more than two people. The "full-timer" is a 34 yr old male artist who is really here about half the time and uses two bedrooms (one for his studio). The rate is $1400 -- or $1250 if you can show somehow that you will also not be here often.

Water is covered by owner, heat and electric not. There's baseboard heating everywhere, and in the common space a split-unit (heat and A/C).

Your room is 19' long and 9' wide, roughly, and has two windows plus a closet. The ceiling is about 10' high.

The building is on the corner of Hancock St. and Stuyvesant Ave., the historic brownstone district of Bed Stuy. The apartment is on the fourth floor (no elevator). It's a beautiful space, with tons of light, hardwood floors, and relics of the 1890s build. It was gut renovated in 2012. There is laundry and bike storage space in the basement. There's a roof, which we more or less control, with a covered deck, chairs, lounge, and unobstructed views of the skyline from northern Brooklyn to lower Manhattan and Queens.

It's a gorgeous 10m walk to your nearest train, the A/C (25m express to Midtown). A 25m walk to G or J/M/Z. There is a Citibike dock outside. All the cafes/bars/parks/etc. you could want nearby. Minus the usual, it's a quiet neighborhood and unusually friendly.

It can become a long-term lease. I am just looking for a clean, easy, zen vibe.

At this point in my life, I want simple -- so preference will go to people who need a place to land, more than a place to dwell 24/7/365.
