I’m subletting my room in a 2-bedroom apartment in Williamsburg. You'd be taking over my room and living with my roommate who is staying through the end of the lease in August. The room is big enough for a queen bed and has a large closet and southwest-facing windows that get lots of light. The door off the bedroom goes to our backyard that has a small patio with table and chairs - great for working from home during the summer! With the current layout, I've fit a queen bed, nightstand, large standing desk, bookcase, clothing rack, and dresser with a comfortable amount of space left over.
The bedroom will come unfurnished, the common spaces have all furnishings and amenities: bathroom with shelf storage, hallway storage for shoes/coats, and living room and kitchen that are fully stocked.
Rent is $1600/month, and utilities typically come out to about $100/month per person: $40 for Spectrum internet, $30-40 for ConEd, $20 for gas.
Located 1 minute walk from the Grand St. L subway, and 10 minute walk from the Metropolitan Av G subway. The location has quick walking/transit access to all the best parts of Williamsburg while being a more residential area with quiet streets and families. Graham Ave and Grand St are full of great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and McCarren Park is just under a mile away.
Available February 1 to August 31, with option to renew the lease starting 9/1/25. We can also allow a March 1 start date.
Both of us are women, 31 years old.
Current tenant (renting the room): Software engineer who works from home five days a week.
Roommate (staying in apartment): Works in foreign policy and works from home two days a week, three days in office.
The apartment is kept clean, quiet, and we don’t throw large parties or have guests over often, so we prefer someone with similar habits. We have lived in the unit for 3.5 years and like this to be a calm space for working from home and resting, so that we can have fun out in the city! We usually spend weeknights watching TV together, reading, or doing crafts and hobbies. Love to cook and use the kitchen often. Other interests include: knitting, hiking, good books, puzzles, mezcal margaritas, skiing, lifting, reality TV, Animal Crossing, park walks.
