Rooms for Rent

$1,800/month

Location

Fort Greene, Brooklyn

Available

March 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026

Seeking a friendly and respectful roommate. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly place with a part-time dog in Ft Greene near the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Short-term okay with a minimum of 6 months.

The bedroom available is in the back away from the street, overlooking the garden. It has a private bathroom with a shower, exposed brick, two large windows, high ceilings, and a large closet with storage above. Currently has a full size bed, nightstand, lamp, and desk. I could also grab a dresser out of storage if you need. If you plan to stay longer than 6 months and have your own furniture, I can move these out. No smoking allowed in the apartment or on the fire escapes.

The other bedroom (mine) is on the opposite side of the apartment with its own bathroom/shower. In between is a long, narrow well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a living area with a 55in smart tv. The building has a shared backyard and laundry in the basement. A super takes care of the trash/recycling and we have a building manager for any issues.

This a second-floor apartment (no elevator) in an 8 unit building. It’s about a 12-14 min walk to the B,Q,R at Dekalb. A little further to the G or A/C. I like the walk, part of it can be through Fort Greene park. Sometimes if I’m in a hurry I use citibike. It’s also very close to the NYC Ferry, but I’ve never taken it.

I care for a medium-size dog about two weeks out of the month. I usually drop him off at a friend’s place around the corner while I’m at work. I regularly vacuum and try to keep evidence of his existence at a minimum!

Utilities (per person) are usually: $25 for FIOS, $10 for gas, and between $40-90 for electricity depending on the season.
Fort Greene is a beautiful neighborhood and has a wonderful park. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. For groceries, there’s a Wegmans down the street as well as some smaller places. Often I hit up Trader Joe’s on the way home from work. I keep paper towels and cleaning supplies fully stocked.
Looking for someone clean, courteous, and LGBTQ/dog-friendly. If you’re interested, please tell me a bit about yourself when reaching out.
