A beautiful and legendary Victorian house that many know as The Rug is looking for housemates! This house has historically been a community-oriented living space (though not a formal co-op) and we’ve hosted many a fundraiser/salon and other events. We’re looking to keep The Rug as a social space, and are looking for new housemates who are interested in living with others not only for the affordability, but because they genuinely want to build community through housing.

There are three bedrooms available, two on the second floor and one on the third floor. I'm ideally looking for individuals and not couples or families to fill the rooms. The apartment is semi-furnished, and features a spacious living room, dining room, kitchen, and 2 full bathrooms. This apartment is a 1 year sublet with an opportunity to extend.

About This Lister

You would be living with Claire (35 y/o F). She works in communications at an environmental justice non-profit, works from home, and enjoys cooking, hosting silly dinner parties, and biking around the city. She’s interested in living with people who are down to hang in common spaces when the mood strikes and would be excited to live in a place that hosts occasional parties and events, and where friends and neighbors drop by to say hi here and there. On weeknights the house gets quiet around 10/11pm.

If you are wondering why there are suddenly three rooms available, here's the long story short: My dear friend and her husband who I've lived with for 4 years are welcoming their first baby, and wanted to have their own space. My boyfriend (the other housemate) and I were planning to give ourselves until May 1 to find two people to fill the rooms, however we just broke up last week and he is moving out. So that's the story!
