Hi, I'm the owner of this building. I'm posting on behalf of my two male tenants who are looking for one more male roommate for this apartment that they also are just moving into. The building super will be showing the space.
This is a commitment until the end of next August, you'll be on the lease and we will not consider shorter-term stays, sorry.
About the building and the apartment: Exposed brick wall in living room, maple hardwood floors, Quartz countertop, brand new stainless steel appliances. Ceramic tile to the ceiling with 2 full baths in the apartment which makes it a good share. High security lock system - get from the street into your apartment with 1 key. Pictured is a furnished and planted garden for tenant use with outdoor furniture and a lounger - very nice during the summer. Quiet, clean, well-maintained building with laundry in basement and a live-in super who is really on top of things. It is a walk-up building but this apartment is on the second floor so it is only 1 flight of stairs above grade-level. This is also a non-smoking building but there is outdoor garden space where you could smoke outside.
$1,000 per month - This is a bright bedroom on the small side that works well for a full sized bed but probably not a queen. It has a good closet. One large window catches north sun and looks out over 132nd Street. This room has high ceilings and is very pleasant and well-finished. Over the years I have been surprised how much people have done with the space. It's good for someone who doesn't have too much stuff. It shares a bathroom with one other guy.
About transportation:
Number 2,3 train on 135th is 5 min away and number 4,5,6 on 125th street is 8 min away walking which makes it very convenient to get quickly to the east or the west side. Supermarkets are nearby, Whole Foods is a few blocks away on 125th Street so you can pick something up on your way back from the subway.
About the tenants:
One guy is 23 and from Fairfax, Virginia. He has lived in NYC for over two years— he lived in the building in a different apartment last year and has signed up for another year. He prefers to live with other guys and wants roommates who are respectful, tidy, communicate well, and maybe hang out sometimes. He loves doing outdoor things like hiking and mountain biking, and he likes to watch football. He works down in the Village, and his hours can vary from 7am-10pm. He likes to have fun but also values a home on the quiet side.
The other guy is 30. He grew up in Brooklyn. He studied music in college. He works a few nights a week setting up sound for a live music venue in Brooklyn. With the rest of his time he is doing construction work in the city and wants to get into that area more in the next year. He is clean and respectful of others.
I am posting the space as landlord and I will be your first point of contact. Tenants are busy so I facilitate by providing basic info and setting up a showing. The building super will show the space by appointment.
If this sounds like a fit, please email for appointment and include something about yourself, your hours, what you're looking for in roommates, etc.
I am the landlord and will be your first point of contact. I will answer any initial questions and will set up a meet and greet if it seems like a good fit. I have owned this building for 19 years and I have found many good tenants through The Listings Project over the last 8 years.
