This apartment is a real gem! It’s so rare to find a place in NYC that actually feels like a home.

- 3BR on 2nd floor of a 4 story walk-up. 2 units/floor. Other tenants are quiet & friendly.

- Halsey St btwn Tompkins & Throop. Neighborhood is *perfect*…very chill with lots of restaurants & bars. Coffee shop across the street. Bodega & grocery store down the block. Herbert Von King park is a short walk. Subway is 2 blocks away.

- Long hallway connects kitchen to living room with bedrooms in between.

- I’ve been using 1 BR as a gym for Peloton & yoga. Currently, it’s the 2nd largest BR that shares a wall with my BR. 3rd BR is on opposite side of apt, which is awesome for privacy, but it’s smaller (still fits Queen-sized bed). I’m willing to swap the available BR & Peloton room if needed.

- Kitchen has full-size appliances, dishwasher, lots of counter space. I’ve worked in restaurants & some former roomies were chefs…we’re well-equipped with kitchen gear!

- Living room has nice sunlight, 11ft projector, good sound system, and a big record collection.

- Bathroom’s nothing special. Decent shower pressure, bathtub, just upgraded to a Tushy lol.

- WiFi/gas/electric = ~$80/mo per person. We can split streaming & Peloton subscriptions if you want to use that stuff.

- Apt is mostly furnished, but I fully intend for my roommate to make this their space too.

Rental agreement:
- I’m currently looking for someone to sublet for 6mo to finish this lease, then will reassess.

- There might be an opportunity to sign the next lease with me if we’re both happy with the arrangement.

- I’m open to a month-to-month sublet at a higher rate, but am ideally looking for something more stable than that.

About you:
- Tell me a little about yourself!
- Also maybe what you’re looking for in your next home.

About This Lister

Friends have handed this place down for over a decade. I’ve lived here for 6yrs, mostly with 1-2 roomies, but solo for the last 18mo…kinda just to prove it to myself that I could do it. But it’s so much space. I’m ready to share it with somebody else again!

About me:
- 38yr single, straight, liberal, white guy. Originally from Wisconsin & Upstate NY. NYC for 11yrs.

- I’m clean, but not a neat freak. Fun & friendly, but quiet & considerate. Down for dinner parties, movie nights, grabbing drinks, etc if ya wanna. Also cool with just keeping to ourselves. Extroverted introvert.

- I’ve had 12 roomies in NYC (8 female, 4 male…a couple horror stories). Most are still friends and I think all would vouch for me being a good roommate.

- I work in veterinary medicine as an anesthesia nurse in surgery. Starting my own consulting business now and working from home more often. Hopefully doing some more work travel soon!

- Our other roommate is Moose. He’s a very well-behaved, chill, bright, 4yr hound dog. Loves fetch, cuddling on the couch, and long walks to the farmer’s market at Fort Greene or Prospect Park. I don’t expect you to do any dog care unless you want to do so.

Lister's Relationship to the Space

Current tenant

Rental requirements

Move in date flexible.

1 month’s rent + security deposit for 6mo sublet.

Let’s chat if you’re interested! I plan to show the apartment this weekend & meet people in person to try to find the best fit.

Pets Policy

Building allows pets on case-by-case basis.

I have a friendly 60lb dog. He & I love other creatures, but logistically it’d be easier to live with somebody who doesn’t have pets. Maybe we’d allow another chill cat or dog if they’re a good fit.
