I am looking for someone to enjoy and take care of my small, perfectly located one-bedroom in Ridgewood, Queens, 4-5 minutes away from the Fresh Pond stop on the M train, easy trip and connections to almost any point in Manhattan. Tons of cafes, restaurants, bars, music venues, small shops, thrift stores, grocery stores nearby, and much more in this vibrant neighborhood.
You will have a small (375 sq ft), independent apartment in a well-maintained, secure, and quiet building. The apartment is on the second floor in the back, with one flight of stairs. The living room/kitchen are combined in one space; there is a small bedroom with a small closet. Bedroom has a twin-size bed; currently the working table is in the bedroom but there is enough space for mental separation.
I'm looking for someone who will take care of my space while I'm gone and will appreciate being part of a multicultural community, with a diversity of languages and cultures. The place is best suited for one person -- a considerate, responsible, and quiet person, who will appreciate and take care of the space and the opportunity to experience Ridgewood. A few plants will need some water 1-2 times a week.
I am a researcher and professor in the fields of culture and the arts. I teach at an art school in NYC and I am traveling for the period.
I will be gone between December 10-February 14 (including), and I am flexible on the dates as long as they are somewhat close to the period I'll be gone. We can prorate the amount if months are not complete.
Please note that I will reply on Friday the earliest. My apologies! I am available to meet online on Saturday and Sunday, and I am happy to show you the place online or in person.
Tenant
Rent: $1,750 (the building is rent-stabilized so this kind of affordable rent is a rare find).
Utilities: $100: internet and electricity (heat, water, garbage included in the rent). The heat is very good for the winter months. 1850 total.
Deposit: $1,000. I will return promptly once the place is returned in the same condition it was received.
I may ask you for a reference and proof of income.
