We are offering our sun-drenched loft on the full second floor of a former sewing machine factory for sublet, for 3 months this summer, from May 15 - August 15. The C-shaped open-plan apartment has exposed brick walls, 14-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and retains lovely original details while also having modern upgrades including in-unit washer, dryer and dishwasher. The apartment is lined with west-facing windows in front and east-facing windows in back, with a charming casement door/window that opens to a very large backyard, shared only with our downstairs neighbors, via the back fire escape and stairs.

The 800 square foot C-shape layout of the loft allows for both openness and distinct spaces, with the bedroom (in the back) and office (in the front) set off from the main space. Perfect for working from home, yoga and meditation, cooking elaborate meals, curling up with a book, or hosting dinner with friends. The fully furnished apartment has space for personal items and the well-stocked kitchen includes a large kitchen island that also serves as a dining table seating four. The apartment gets lovely sunlight throughout the day and the ceiling fans and window AC unit keep the apartment cool throughout the hottest of summer days. The space is curated with plants, furniture and art as well as a wall of books in the front study/office area.

Right around the corner from Maria Hernandez Park, the lively neighborhood offers great culinary variety (from delicious tamale stands and a Saturday farmer’s market to multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants) and shops ranging from discount to specialty items. The Jefferson L train is a six-minute walk away (less than 20 minutes to Union Square) and there is a large, 24/7 grocery store next door.

Looking for a responsible, respectful, non-smoking person or couple (no roommates, sadly no pets, no parties). We love our charming home, and hope to find someone who will care for our plants and home like we do ourselves, while making themselves comfortable and enjoying all the loft and neighborhood have to offer.

The rent includes all utilities and internet.

We are a couple (artist and academic) who will be away over summer break. We *love* this place and hope to share it with someone who might love it as much as we do.

We have a good relationship with our landlord upstairs and our neighbors downstairs and are looking for a considerate, responsible person or couple to enjoy our home while we are away.
