Hi listers! I will be away from the city for a few weeks visiting family for the holidays and am hoping to find a person or couple to enjoy my little sanctuary in Brooklyn Heights while I'm away.
The apartment is super clean, organized and fully furnished (see photos) but with plenty of storage space for your things. I've cleared half of my closet (an IKEA - PAX system) for your use as needed in addition to bedroom drawers and the entryway storage bench.
You'll be on the 2nd floor of a small (8-unit) walk-up building on a quiet, tree-lined street right next to Brooklyn Bridge Park (less than a 5-minute walk). There’s an adorable Italian restaurant on the corner, a laundromat and an amazing donut shop across the street, and a short walk to all the stores/restaurants/bars on Montague (including the heavenly L’appartment 4F bakery!), Atlantic Ave. and Court Street.
Queen-size bedroom with a very comfy, organic bamboo hybrid pillow-top mattress, Brooklinen sheets and a street-facing window with a fire escape that stretches over to the living room window (see photos). There’s a Fire TV with Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, etc., wall-mounted in the bedroom.
The apartment has a full kitchen (with a big courtyard-facing window, currently home to my thriving house plants), a small living room, bathroom and a work/office space with an adjustable sit-stand desk that I’ve used for my full-time WFH job that you’re welcome to use during your stay.
Electric, gas and internet are included/covered by me.
Ideally looking for the dates listed, but I do have some flexibility and open to discussing other options. I will also be away for most of January and happy to explore longer-term arrangements for the right fit!
I’m a journalist-turned-analyst (she/her) who has been living in NYC for the past 10 years. I’ve been in this space for three+ years and desperately in love with it. It’s an old building that’s been well-taken care of and retains the old school charm. Neighbors are generally fantastic & mostly quiet, and I have a great relationship with the landlord/building manager, who lives nearby and will be available if any issues arise during your stay.
Current tenant
I'll be showing the apartment. Will want you to sign/agree to a simple sublease agreement and pay the agreed-upon amount ($1000/week, +\- negotiable for length of your stay), plus a $500 refundable security deposit.
Open to small dogs/cats on a case by case basis.
